Arbitration
Representing clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings, including ICSID, ICC, and Zimbabwe Arbitration Centre matters. Experienced in mining concession disputes, bilateral investment treaty claims, and commercial arbitration across the SADC region.
Commercial Litigation
Handling complex commercial disputes in the High Court and Supreme Court of Zimbabwe, including shareholder disputes, contract enforcement, banking litigation, and insolvency proceedings. Extensive experience with cross-border commercial matters involving regional jurisdictions.
Constitutional & Public Law
Appearing before the Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe in matters involving fundamental rights, land reform challenges, electoral law, and administrative justice. Advising government bodies and private parties on constitutional compliance and public law matters.

About Advocate Munyuru
Nyasha Brighton Munyuru was called to the Bar after completing his LLBS (Hons) at the University of Zimbabwe and obtaining an LLM. He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb, UK) and has built a distinguished practice spanning constitutional litigation, commercial arbitration, and mining law.
Over the course of his career, he has appeared as lead counsel in numerous matters before the High Court, Supreme Court, and Constitutional Court of Zimbabwe. He has also represented clients in international arbitration proceedings under ICSID and ICC rules.
Advocate Munyuru is recognised for his strategic approach to complex litigation, combining meticulous legal research with persuasive advocacy. He has been involved in several landmark cases that have shaped Zimbabwean jurisprudence, including challenges to the land reform programme and constitutional rights cases.
Beyond his litigation practice, Advocate Munyuru serves as an arbitrator at the Zimbabwe Arbitration Centre and lectures part-time in Constitutional Law at the University of Zimbabwe Faculty of Law. He is committed to the development of the legal profession and mentors young practitioners through the Law Society of Zimbabwe.

Cases
Zambezi Mining Corp v. Minister of Mines
Successfully challenged the revocation of mining concessions in the Marange diamond fields, securing a landmark ruling from the Supreme Court on the procedural requirements for mineral rights cancellation under the Mines and Minerals Act.
Moyo & Others v. Electoral Commission
Represented petitioners in a Constitutional Court challenge to constituency boundary delimitation, resulting in a precedent-setting judgment on the right to equal representation under Section 67 of the Constitution.
Standard Chartered Bank v. Harare Properties Ltd
Led the defence in a USD 12 million commercial mortgage dispute in the High Court, successfully arguing for the application of the doctrine of frustration in the context of Zimbabwe's currency reforms.
Chinamasa Agricultural Trust v. Government of Zimbabwe
Represented a farming trust in a bilateral investment treaty claim before ICSID, challenging the compulsory acquisition of agricultural land without adequate compensation under the Zimbabwe-Netherlands BIT.
In re: Constitutional Amendment No. 2 Challenge
Appeared as amicus curiae in the Constitutional Court proceedings examining the constitutionality of proposed amendments to judicial appointment procedures, contributing to the Court's landmark ruling on separation of powers.
Platinum Holdings (Pvt) Ltd v. Zimplats
Acted for the claimant in an ICC arbitration concerning a joint venture agreement for platinum mining operations in the Great Dyke, securing an award of USD 8.5 million in damages for breach of exclusivity provisions.
